Alabama Christian (4-8) split two games over the weekend by defeating Horseshoe Bend on Friday and losing to Pike Road on Saturday.
Against Horseshoe Bend, all eleven players were able to play significant minutes in a 60-30 drubbing of the Generals, with ten of the players scoring. The Eagles owned the glass, out rebounding its opponent 38-19 and also moved the ball well with 19 assists on 26 made field goals in the game. Avery Stuart, one of three Eagles in double figures, led ACA with 12 points and six rebounds. Hayes Hunt added 11 points and five rebounds while Caden Perry had 10 points, five rebounds and five assists.
On Saturday, ACA played a much tougher opponent in the soon to be 5A Pike Road Patriots. Through one quarter the game was tied 9-9, but the Eagles were outscored 40-21 over the second and third quarters to trail 30-49 entering the final quarter. The Patriots would prevail, 71-50. Jalen Clark and Caden Perry both had nine points to lead the offense. Clark added five rebounds and three assists to his point total while Perry had four rebounds and three assists. Avery Stuart scored eight points with seven rebounds.
Over the Christmas break, ACA will play in a tournament in Maplesville.
