Sometimes in the playoffs who you draw is very important in determining how far your team might go in the postseason. Alabama Christian faced a tough second round opponent in American Christian in a 4A Top 10 match up. The Patriots swept the series and did not allow an Eagle run in the two games. In the first game underclassmen Hayes Hunt, Trey Schlemmer and Isaac Warrick delivered the team’s three hits in the 13-0 loss. Warrick and Hunt pitched for the Eagles in the opener. In the final game, three seniors collected the offense’s only hits as Brandon Bice, Mason Prestage and Thomas Stovall each singled and Zac Westbrook and JT Moorer both pitched in the 7-0 defeat.
Despite the sweep, ACA enjoyed success not seen over the past few years. The Eagles returned to the playoffs for the first time since 2016, won the Area championship and finished with a record of 19-12-1.
