ACA Falls to LAMP in Extra Innings

Although Alabama Christian scored first in a key Area matchup with LAMP, they never crossed the plate again in a 2-1 loss in eight innings. Haley Ingram singled in the first inning, to extend her hitting streak to 22 games, and later scored ACA's only run on an infield error by the Golden Tiger defense. After a leadoff walk to start the fourth, LAMP scored its first run with a double to center field. The game remained tied through seven innings although ACA had a chance to walk it off in the bottom of the seventh as they loaded the bases with only one out, but were unable to push across the game winning run. LAMP led off the eighth with a solo homer and the Lady Eagles were unable to answer for the 2-1 loss. Ingram and Rose Costanza were the offense as the two seniors produced all three hits the Eagles could muster. The rest of the lineup was a combined 0 for 21 on the afternoon. Costanza took the loss in the circle as she pitched the full eight innings with six strikeouts.

ACA continues Area play as the take on BTW-Tuskegee on Monday, April 12th.
