Like Tuesday against St James, the Lady Eagles did it again on Wednesday with a close win over LAMP after losing tight games to the Tigers in the regular season. Pitching dominated the contest as both teams combined for just three runs and ten hits in the 2-1 Alabama Christian triumph. Starter Rose Costanza pitched a complete game gem and held LAMP to one run on five hits with nine strikeouts.
Neither team scored over the first three innings as the offenses produced only two hits. In the top of the fourth, LAMP scored the first run of the day with back-to-back one-out hits, but Costanza recorded the second out with a strikeout and coaxed an infield popup to hold the damage to one run. Costanza connected on the first pitch she saw in the bottom half to even the score at 1-1. ACA took the lead for good in the sixth inning as Izzy Warrick led off the frame with a single. After Warrick stole second, Katie Chappell drove in the game winning run for the 2-1 advantage. Costanza got the final three outs in the seventh and helped the Eagles advance to the Area finals.
