ACA hit the road this week as they visited Catholic on Tuesday and Elmore County on Thursday. The Eagles lost to Catholic in three games as the Lady Knights appear to be a top contender in Class 3A, thanks to new additions to the roster. Top players from PCA and Marbury joined the program this season to increase the fortunes of the team. ACA rebounded and defeated Elmore County in five, as they won the first two games, dropped the next two and won the finale, 15-8.
Alabama Christian had several impressive performances against Elmore County as Paige Henry’s eight aces is a tie for the eighth most in a match and Ella Weed’s nine blocks is the tenth most in a match in program history. Henry also had a team high for the season with 18 kills and Alyson Thornton had a top showing with 37 assists. Cayla Schofield finished the night with ten kills, eight blocks and two aces. Claire Forrester had nine kills, eight digs and four aces while Lynleigh Stephen produced a team high 12 digs.
The Lady Eagles next play Saturday in a tournament in Auburn.
