ACA 2022-23 Season Recap

Coach Spenser Cantrell’s first year brought great improvement to the girl’s program as the squad doubled the number of wins from last season. The Lady Eagles swept MA for the first time since 2009, in Area play. ACA finished 12-14 on the season and is poised to improve next year as the team will only lose one to graduation. Although senior Rachel Rine was a primary option for the offense this year, the other four starters are ready to carry the extra offensive responsibility into next season.

A trio of sophomores, Jaide Newkirk, Izzy Warrick, and Katelyn Sutton are already making their mark on the program as each player has scored at least 400 points in their careers and ranks in the Top 40 in points scored in school history. Newkirk ranks 21st with 547 points and ranks seventh in career free throws attempted and eighth in career free throws made. Her 87 free throws made this season are the tenth most in program history. Warrick ranks 29th with 486 career points. Sutton ranks 38th with 423 career points and ranks ninth in career three-pointers made.
