Like the girl’s team, Coach Jim Sanderson’s first year saw his squad double their win total from last year with eight wins. There were many questions heading into the season with a new coach and several key players leaving the program over the past couple of years, but Coach Sanderson found ten willing to give it all they had every night. The team played with an intensity lacking last season and improved greatly over the course of the year.
The last week of the regular season saw the team win three straight games. The team might have played its best game in the Area tournament as they gave top-seed St James everything they could handle before falling 42-54. Although the Eagles graduate three seniors, ninety percent of the offense came from underclassmen which bodes well for the future. Sophomore Mac Moorer’s sixty-made threes this year is the tenth most in a season for the Eagles.
