Alabama Christian ended a three year playoff drought and won the Area championship with a sweep of BTW on Thursday. The Eagles dominated the day, despite an eight day layoff, with 17-0 and 15-0 shutouts to improve their record to 17-10-1 on the season. Isaac Warrick starred in the opener as he no-hit the Golden Eagles with five strikeouts and drove in two runs with a hit in three at bats. Jalen Clark and Zac Westbrook each delivered two hits with two RBIs while Hayes Hunt and Mason Prestage each drove in two runs apiece.
The Eagles continued their dominance of BTW in game two as Zac Westbrook allowed just one hit with seven strikeouts in a 15-0 blowout. Nine different Eagles scored runs and nine drove in runs in the second half of the doubleheader. Taylor Thornton was 2 for 2 with a double and two runs driven in while Preston Hicks finished 1 for 1 with a triple and two RBIs. JT Moorer and Parker Mock both drove in two runs in the contest.
Alabama Christian will host the first round of the playoffs on Friday, April 23rd at the AUM Baseball Complex.
